Result: It seems that you can claim a deduction for transport

Remember that you are not entitled to the deduction for days you worked from home, were on holidays or were off sick, for example. As a result, you can't include these days when you register your deduction for transport between home and work.

3 steps when you are entitled to a transport deduction

Use your calendar: Make a note of the days each month when you travel to and from work. This way it is easy to enter the right information in your preliminary income assessment (forskudsopgørelse) and tax assessment notice (årsopgørelse).
At the end of the year: Enter your expected transport deduction for the coming year in your preliminary income assessment in E-tax (TastSelv).
In March: Enter your actual transpor deduction for the past year in your tax assessment notice in E-tax (TastSelv).
